The COP29 Summit, the International Climate Conference, was held by the United Nations in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, between November 11-22, 2024.

In the Turkish pavilion, where many topics were discussed on Climate Change and Sustainability, Konya Metropolitan Municipality also took part in the panel titled "Sustainable Destination Management: Transformation of the Tourism Industry and Destinations".

In the panel where Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Cappadocia University, TGA (Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency), GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) and Turkish Hoteliers Association (TÜROB) took part, Konya's local contributions to sustainable tourism from the perspective of Smart Cities were explained.
